Where will we be in China?

There’s a million things I should be doing right now…folding laundry, cleaning bathrooms, etc, but instead all I can think about is getting on a plane to China.  So, I thought I’d give you a glimpse as to where we will be going.

China Trip

We will fly from Dallas directly to Beijing.  (14 hours!!!)  We will spend two days in Beijing exploring and discovering the country where our daughter was born.  This will also give us time to adjust to the time difference.  We plan to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and just take in the culture.

On Sunday, we will fly to Nanjing, where our daughter currently lives.  We will finally meet her on Monday and spend the rest of the week getting to know her, signing papers, visiting the orphanage, etc.  Nanjing used to be the capital and is rich in history.  We will have a little bit of time to explore the city where she has lived for the last two years.

On Friday we will fly to Guangzhou where we will complete the US side of the adoption.  We will spend a week here going to doctor’s appointments and an appointment at the consulate to get her visa to enter the US.  Once we have her visa we will be able to head back home and begin live as a family of 5!

Oh my goodness, it sounds like it is happening. What day do you leave or are you still waiting for that? I think this is so exciting and wonderful.

We are hoping and praying we will leave next week. We just need China’s approval to travel. If we don’t get the approvals we need in the next few days we will travel mid-June. We are preparing to leave next week so it’s all I can think about!
